After a long march keeping pace with the horses, I finally drift toward sleep beneath a canopy of ancient stars. We’ve made camp in a natural clearing beside another babbling creek, its gentle music weaving through the night air while massive oak trees stand sentinel around us. The campfire has burned down to glowing embers, casting barely enough light to illuminate my companions in their bedrolls and Hadrian sitting watch beside the fire.

Above us, Lumara’s silver disc shines against the velvet sky, while the golden fragments of shattered Shattara scatter across the darkness beside it. I watch them until my eyelids grow heavy, marveling at how different this world’s sky looks compared to my memories of Earth’s single, whole moon.

I lie in my blue dress, my armor and boots set aside for comfort beside the creek where the cool air feels good against my skin. The familiar weight of my greataxe rests within arm’s reach, its steel catching occasional glints of moonlight. Everything feels peaceful, safe, protected by the natural walls of our woodland sanctuary.
